Overview of the Experiment
- The Research Experiment of Image-based Behavioral Analysis at Life Sciences Library (approved by the Research Ethics Committee) will be implemented using 48 cameras.
- In this experiment, Osaka University Institute for Datability Science acquires the behavioral image data of traffic (multiple unspecified individuals) and establishes the behavioral Institute for Datability analysis technique based on image analysis.
Research Purpose

- Create an image-based behavioral analysis technology to apply image sensor-based systems to fields related to security and safety in society (e.g. disaster risk reduction, crime prevention)

- Achieve highly accurate estimation of human flow, human authentication, and human detection in the actual environment.
- To perform behavioral analysis (individuals and crowds) and recognize human behavior, actions, conditions, etc.

- Perform analysis based on many characteristics that are derived from human image processing (e.g. face, gait)
Purpose and contents of the experiment
- The cameras will be installed on the premises of Life Sciences Library to:
- Capture the targets on walkways, etc. as image data; and
- Use the captured images to develop and evaluate the image analysis technology
- Experiment meetings and open workshops will be held to:
- Receive your feedback; and
- Evaluate and analyze expectations for the human image analysis and anxieties about the camera operation, and review the ideal model of camera operation
- As the place of demonstration experiment:
- Abnormal action detection using image-based behavioral analysis technology.
- Conduct experiment analyze human behavior related to contributing to energy saving.
Usage and Management of Data

- The data will be used only for the purpose of the study notified at the time of data acquisition.

- The data will be used only in the designated areas of ISIR (The Institute of Scientific and Industrial Research, Osaka Univ.) and Cybermedia Center.
